Before you decide what marketing you’ll do for Valentine’s Day, it’s important to set goals that will help you measure your success.

You should think about:

Financial goals: Such as your dollar sales, profit or return on investment.

Marketing goals: What are your unit sales, levels of satisfaction or uptake of a promotion/special offer.

Client goals:  For example, your reactivation of lapsed clients, number of new clients or rebooking rate percentage.

1. Create Valentine’s Day packages

Bundle your services and retail to entice your clients into trying something new – or create the perfect ‘package’ gift for Valentine’s Day. Promote these to your current and new clients in-store, on your website, through an email marketing campaign or on social media and in your front window!

2. Wish your clients a Happy Valentine’s Day

Send your clients a Valentine’s Day email or SMS text message with a special offer, promotion or gift suggestions. It lets your clients know you’re thinking of them and encourages them to book in or purchase gifts with you.

3. Promote gift vouchers

Vouchers can be a real money-maker! Ensure you’ve set up Online Voucher Sales on your Online Booking site so your clients can purchase vouchers for their loved ones easily.

If your clients like printed vouchers, make them beautiful by presenting them in gift boxes or with ribbons. Promote it at your reception with a poster sitting on the desk, and make it a point of conversation when you check your clients out.

If you don’t have a designed voucher yet, you can use free online tools like Canva and Pixlr, which are easy to use and provide a range of free templates.

4. Get in touch with non-retained clients

Using Valentine’s Day as an opportunity to reconnect with your non-retained clients to let them know you miss them. You can use your Client Retention report in Kitomba to identify clients who haven’t returned in a certain number of months, and then create a personalised message template to tell them about your promotion, gifts and vouchers.

5. Upsell services and packages

Chat to your clients about their Valentine’s Day plans when they visit to upsell services and retail products to gift to their significant other or treat themselves!

Whether it’s a special conditioning treatment followed by a beautiful blowout to help them look and feel their best, or booking in an indulgent couple’s massage to gift to their loved one; there are plenty of opportunities to upsell for Valentine’s Day.
