Do you ever sit back in the evening, scroll through your Instagram feed and think: “How did these salons, spas and clinics become so successful?” Do you look at their following, their engagement, their content, and wonder: “How do they do all this, plus run a successful business, when I’m struggling to keep my head above water?”
Well, if you want to be one of these highly successful salons, spas and clinics, and not just look on from the sidelines, there are a few tips and tricks that can help you on your way.
Here are 5 tools that have helped my own business and my coaching clients’ salons become highly successful and profitable in a short period of time.
1. Understand your figures with Xero
Xero is the perfect finance management tool, plus it integrates with Kitomba! It is really important to have your accounting up to date and have everything speaking to each other, so that you can instantly see how you’re tracking. With Xero, it’s as easy as taking a little time to allocate your takings and expenses, and calculate wages. Link it to Kitomba and you can also automatically send your cash drawer reconciliation to Xero, so your numbers will match perfectly.
2. Emails that convert
Mailchimp is used for email marketing, and also integrates with Kitomba. You can create beautiful emails in Mailchimp and send them out to targeted client lists from Kitomba 1, so you’ll always be sending the right messages, to the right people, at the right time. You can even map out your email marketing campaign in advance, write all your monthly emails and even organise your Christmas campaigns ahead of time. Then simply update your client list, hit send, and while you’re in the salon, your clients will still feel connected with your brand.
3. Get creative with Canva
Next up is Canva, this is a creative tool that you can use to create beautiful imagery, ads, content, e-books, Instagram images and more. They have thousands of templates that allow you to create beautifully designed content, even if you don’t have a creative bone in your body! It is the perfect tool to ensure your branding is on point. Remember it’s important that your content stands out and is memorable if you want to attract people to follow your business.
4. Consistency is key – Slay your social media
Later is a social media scheduling tool for all your social media platforms, like Instagram and Facebook. If you struggle to think about what to post every day, you can pre-plan all your content, a month or even 6 months in advance. A great new feature in Later is the ability to schedule Instagram stories. I recommend 8-10 stories a day so that you can be consistent, and with Later it’s super easy while having a strategy behind every post. Remember consistency is key when posting content to social media.
5. Sell online
Lastly, get on board with e-commerce websites. Shopify is my go to platform to create, promote and sell products and gift cards online. It’s a great resource and really easy to use. E-commerce is booming, so it’s a great time to consider adding an online shopping option to your business.
Having a successful business is easy when you’re engaging your target audience, communicating with clients and also tracking your own performance. Following these tips and using these platforms will help you become more efficient, and get you that much closer to business success. One last tip, don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone, these tools have been built for people just like you.
