In 2016 9.6 million appointments were made in Kitomba and we helped our customers look after 2.5 million clients. Our support team of 20 people spent over 310,000 minutes helping and assisting our customers on the phone, answered almost 9,500 emails and we’re excited to have answered 1,100 web chats – a new feature released at the end of last year.
So we think it’s safe to say that 2016 was a massive year for us! We also wanted to share our top six highlights with you:
1. Survived an earthquake
In November New Zealand experienced a large earthquake (7.8) and we’re still unable to access our office. However, we’re happy that the Kitomba Team, their families and homes were all safe. We’re also glad to have been able to continue supporting you from our homes and we must say our temporary office in a student accommodation hall has made for a bit of fun!

What a night! We’re so happy to be part of such a successful industry and we had a great time celebrating the best salons in New Zealand. Congratulations again to all our winners!
5. Customer survey
Your feedback is super important to us! Thank you to everyone who answered our survey, we’re so happy to have received the highest number of responses ever. We’ve heard your feedback, been busy planning and now we can’t wait to start releasing some exciting features!
6. Kitomba Christmas party
We celebrated the end of the year, like we’re sure many of you did, with an amazing Christmas party! We had so much fun dressing up to fit the maritime theme, and dancing the night away to a very cool band.
